We welcomed the delegation (8 people) including Mayor Eric Garsettti of Los Angeles City, Director of the Port and Harbor of Gene Seroka, and exchanged opinions on future collaboration between Los Angeles Port and Yokohama Port for the formation of carbon neutral ports and the digitization of ports.
In the Japan-US Joint Leaders' Statement in April 2021, Japan and the United States will lead the world's decarbonization and cooperate toward the formation of carbon neutral ports, and have been holding US-Japan workshops for decarbonization of ports and harbors so far. Going forward, we will continue to work with port cities around the world to promote decarbonization.
