A symposium was held jointly by the Mayors' Association of Designated City and the City of Yokohama to encourage them to think about the future of Yokohama.
In Part 1, Professor Takuya Tsuji of Hitotsubashi University gave a lecture on "Toward the Realization of Legislation in Special City". In the second part, a panel discussion was held with Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Naoki Furukawa and Professor Tsuji of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and received a story that a new local autonomy system was needed based on the current situation in Japan. He talked with examples of what he was aiming for legislation and how the realization of a special city would change the lives of citizens.
