In formulating

Based on the analysis of the situation of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, the voices of staff involved in supporting the affected areas, and citizen questionnaires, we created a new earthquake disaster prevention strategy (draft).

Voice of Citizens

Image of citizen's voice

  • We do not stock up on food, water and toilet packs
  • I am worried about evacuation of elderly families
  • refuge toilets, privacy, hygiene, bedtime environment, etc.

Voice of staff involved in supporting affected areas

Voice of staff involved in supporting affected areas

  • Road cuts have a significant impact on rescue and transportation of goods
  • Support for people living in evacuation at home is also needed.
  • damage situation changes depending on the presence or absence of earthquake resistance Etc.

The four pillars of our strategy

  1. We will strengthen our pre-disaster preparedness for citizens and local communities, including support for stockpiling at home, measures against earthquakes and fire, earthquake-resistant housing, and maintenance of disaster-prevention parks.
  2. We will improve the environment of refuge and enhance our stockpiles so that everyone can live a safe life.
  3. We will support the activities of wide-area support units gathered from all over the country and establish disasterrelief supplies as soon as possible.
  4. We will accelerate the earthquake resistance of water and sewage systems and the development of emergency transportation routes for evacuation, rescue, and transportation of goods in the event of a disaster, and promote the development of disaster-resistant towns.
