Last updated on September 11, 2018.
In Yokohama City, we have designated elementary and junior high schools in the city of designated evacuation center as well as evacuation shelter, have installed emergency storage storage and stockpiling equipment and food, and have deployed digital mobile radios at each site as a means of transmitting and transmitting information to damage information.
Make sure you have regular meetings with your family and community to confirm the safe route to evacuation shelter.
※In addition to the designated evacuation center, where you live an evacuation life, you should also check the designated emergency evacuation site to escape the dangers of an imminent disaster.Pages of "designated evacuation center" and "designated emergency evacuation site"

Seismic retrofitting of school facilities
Seismic reinforcement was promoted for gymnasiums and school buildings constructed before the new seismic standards (before 1980).
Development of emergency stockpiling
We have a disaster prevention stockpiling to store disaster prevention equipment and food. There are two types of disaster prevention storage: remodeling empty classrooms in schools and new prefabricated warehouses in school grounds.
Securing drinking water
In order to secure drinking water, we promoted the development of underground water tanks for disasters and emergency hydrants, and the use of receiving tanks. In addition, we are promoting the use of fire hydrants and the development of earthquake-resistant hydrants.
