Start operation of automatic heart massager
In City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau, we will introduce automatic heart massagers to all rescue squads to further improve life-saving effects.

History of introduction
Under the “Response to Cardiopulmonary Accompanying the Expansion of COVID-19 infection (Guidelines for Response by Fire Departments)” by the Japan Society of Clinical Emergency Medicine, the use of automatic cardiac massagers has been shown to avoid the risk of infection among members performing chest compressions in emergency vehicles.
Expected effect
In addition to strengthening infection prevention measures, it is expected that the life-saving effect of continuous and effective chest compressions will be improved, and that the physical burden on rescue workers, such as preventing injuries to back pain will be reduced.
