Seya Ward is located at the westernmost tip of the city. Five rivers flow from north to south with elongated terrain, and there are many good agricultural lands and forest areas, including the city's largest Kamiseya agricultural area, and agriculture is thriving, including the famous Seya Udo.
In addition, commerce is thriving around Sotetsu Mitsukyo Station and Seya Station, and the northern part of the ward is adjacent to the Tomei Expressway Yokohama Machida IC, National Route 246 and Hodogaya Bypass, and is convenient for transportation. Many facilities and factories are lined up.
In recent years, the development of urban infrastructure such as roads and sewers such as Ring Route 4 has been progressing, and the development of familiar waterside bases through the river improvement project with the Izumi River Hometown, and the long-awaited Seya Hongo Park where residents can enjoy full-scale sports is also progressing steadily, and the development of urban facilities that will be places for residents to relax and engage in activities are steadily progressing.
Seya fire department has deployed nine fire trucks, four ambulances, and six other vehicles at its headquarters in the ward and at the Nakazeya, Shimoseya and Akuwa branch offices, and approximately 150 staff members protect the safety of the ward day and night.
