 In Yokohama City, we are promoting the development of licensed nursery schools as an initiative to eliminate children waiting to enter nursery schools.
 This time, with the aim of opening in April 2024, a licensed baby/infant nursery school that can accept new 1.2-year-olds, utilizing the “Existing Facility Cooperation Type 1.2-year-olds Maintenance Subsidy Project” We are looking for businesses that install and operate either branch or small-scale childcare business (type A or type B).

Business Overview

 “Existing facility-linked 1.2-year-old child institution maintenance subsidy project” means that in Yokohama, a licensed nursery school, authorized child institution (Kindergarten-linked type and kindergarten-type authorized child institution) or a private kindergarten in Yokohama City, a kindergarten that operates a kindergarten that operates a kindergarten that currently operates a nursery school that operates a nursery school that is operated by itself as a recipient of 3-year-olds or older children or older (1-year-old or older, and baby/infant nursery school that can accommodates or older.

Target companies

The subsidized company shall meet all of the following requirements 1-8 and have a legal personality.


  1. Continuing from April 1, 2022, prior to April 1, 2022, operating licensed nursery schools, authorized child institution (childcare cooperative type and kindergarten type), kindergartens (limited to nurseries, etc.) in Yokohama City with good content.
  2. A 1.2-year-old child institution (approved baby/infant nursery school, licensed nursery school branch or small-scale childcare business (type A or type B)) that can set all promotion slots at existing facilities by utilizing the capacity limit of nursery schools (existing facilities) operated by the company.
  3. There is a possibility that maintenance properties can be secured by the time maintenance starts. (In the case of rental properties, according to Articles 16 and 17 of the outline of the approval and confirmation of Yokohama citizen nursery school establishment)
  4. In the case of corporations other than social welfare corporations, satisfy the examination criteria of "Approval of the establishment of nursery schools" (December 12, 2014, Equal Employment and Child and Family Bureau Director of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, No. 1212, No. 5, Equal Employment and Child and Family Bureau).
  5. Have the necessary resources and trust in setting up and operating a 1.2-year-old child institution.
  6. After the start of the operation of the 1.2-year-old child institution, conduct a questionnaire for users and verify it, etc., and plan close cooperation with Yokohama City to promote the business smoothly.
  7. There is no reason for disqualification stipulated in Article 35 of the Child Welfare Law.
  8. In addition, there is not reason that the mayor recognizes as inappropriate.

Requirements for Existing Facilities

Facilities operated by the target company in Yokohama City shall, in principle, meet all of the following requirements 1-4.


  1. Infants who receive childcare provided by the newly developed 1.2-year-old child institution will continue to provide education or childcare continuously until the infant reaches the beginning of elementary school after graduating from the facility. A facility with a capacity difference that can be provided. (In principle, it is possible to accept at one facility.)
  2. Being located in an area close to the 1.2-year-old children's garden and at a distance that requires transportation by car. (Approximately 5 to 15 minutes by car)
  3. Have a vehicle to be picked up (including leases) or are to be purchased by subsidies such as the purchase of Yokohama City Nursery School Bus, and be able to secure the space necessary for parking and getting on and off.
  4. In principle, the current capacity of 1.2 year olds must not be changed. However, if a change is necessary for project implementation, such as setting a capacity difference with a child aged 3 years or older, obtain the agreement of Motoichi.

Requirements for 1.2-year-olds

In principle, 1.2-year-old children's schools newly maintained by the target company shall meet all of the following requirements 1-4.


  1. The capacity must be 20 or more and 45 or less when developing as a licensed baby/infant nursery school or a licensed nursery school branch, and 13 or more and 19 or less when developing as a small childcare business (type A or type B) .
  2. In principle, the number of children aged 0 must not be set. (In addition, acceptance of elementary school student by age or non-member admission (facilitating admission) is set in consultation with Yokohama City.)
  3. Provide facilities including a dedicated nursery room (approximately 30 m2) for elementary school student who wish to transfer to existing facilities.
  4. To secure the necessary space for parking and getting on and off.
