International Strategic Comprehensive Special Zones

Under the Comprehensive Special Zone System, measures to strengthen the international competitiveness of industry and revitalize the region will be implemented in response to changes in economic and social conditions such as changes in the industrial structure and international competitive conditions, and rapid birthrate and aging population. We aim to improve and sustainably develop the vitality of Japan's economy and society by comprehensively and intensively promoting it.

It was jointly proposed by Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama City, and Kawasaki City, and was designated as a national government in December 2011.
While maximizing the local resources such as the industrial base accumulated in the Keihin coastal area, we will revitalize the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, improve international competitiveness, bring out ripple effects on related industries and small and medium-sized enterprises, and promote initiatives aimed at realizing economic growth and life innovation.
