In Yokohama City, we are promoting the redevelopment of the Nishiya Water Purification Plant with the aim of improving the seismic resistance of the Nishiya Water Purification Plant and increasing the processing capacity. Prior to the development of this facility, six Historic buildings buildings that remain in the facility since the establishment of the Nishiya Water Purification Plant in 1915 have been relocated to a place that does not affect the renewal of the facilities.
In 1997, Historic buildings was registered with the Tangible Cultural Property of the country in recognition of its historical value of the brick building and its gentle landscape like a water purification plant. The Nishiya Water Purification Plant will be reborn after redevelopment, but Yokohama City considers the Historic buildings in the site as a valuable Cultural Heritage and is proceeding with construction to pass it on to future generations.
In addition, after the completion of the Hikiya construction, we plan to open the public to the public.
