Ordinance on Promotion of International Peace in Yokohama
In Yokohama, we have made various efforts to promote international peace without forgetting that many precious lives were sacrificed by the Great Yokohama Air Raid on May 29, 1945. One of these is the partnership between sister cities overseas, which has been promoted based on the idea that deepening international goodwill and mutual understanding between cities and cities will lead to world peace. In recognition of these efforts, he was awarded the title of Peace Messenger by the United Nations.
On the other hand, despite various efforts for international peace, many precious lives have been lost due to regional conflicts.
