Last updated on May 11, 2022.
Commentary
At the time of Showa 19 (1944), the relevant grades for evacuation of schoolchildren were three grades from elementary school sixth grade (currently elementary school sixth grade) to three years. The following year, in the new semester of 1945, new third-year students are eligible.
According to the summer record of 1944, when the first evacuation of schoolchildren took place (July 25, 2017, the Asahi Shimbun), 71 of the 111 national schools in Yokohama were evacuated.
Total number of elementary school student 67,664 (units/persons)
Evacuation of connection 34,896 (about 52%)
Group evacuation 25,353 (approximately 37%)
Evacuation residual 7,415 (approximately 11%)
Also, unlike the Ministry of Education's policy, Yokohama proposed that all schoolchild be evacuated to Kanagawa Prefecture.
