Comparing BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) indicating the degree of water contamination by the annual average value of FY2019, the water quality of the Tsurumi River is 3.0 mg / liter at Sendai Bridge, 3.2 mg / liter at Kamenoko Bridge, 3.0 mg / liter at Otsuna Bridge, 1.8 mg / liter at Sueyoshi Bridge, Tsurumi River.
On the other hand, the annual BOD value of the effluent discharged from the Water Reclamation Center in Yokohama City in 2019 is 3.0 mg / liter, which is almost the same as the water quality of the Tsurumi River.
