Yokohama City Autism Association x Iwasaki Gakuen x Yokohama City Autism Enlightenment Video has been produced!
Through the collaboration of the Yokohama City Autism Association, Iwasaki Gakuen, and Yokohama City, we created a video aimed at raising awareness of autism.
Long version
Public location
- Yokohama City YouTube Official Channel
In the future, we plan to disseminate videos widely using various media after World Autism Awareness Day and Developmental Disorder Awareness Week.
Overview of the video
In 120 seconds, we introduced the characteristics of autism, which could not be described in the short version of 15 seconds, and interviewed students at Iwasaki Gakuen Yokohama Nursery and Welfare College, a school corporation.
Interviews were recorded after a web seminar with students who want to become nursery teachers in the future and members who raised children with autism from the Yokohama City Autism Association. After attending the seminar, the students communicate what they felt in their own words.
In recent years, it has been reported that about 1 in 100 people have autism spectrum disorder. As you can see in the video, "There are people with autism at school and at work close to you." First of all, I would be grateful if you could take that step "know more about autism".
Short version
Public location
- Yokohama City YouTube Official Channel
- Broadcast on the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line and Green Line Car Vision (From Monday, March 31, 2025 to Sunday, April 6)
Overview of the video
"I want you to know more about 'autism'. I want to aim for Yokohama where everyone can spend their own way. "This is a 15-second video on the theme of the thoughts of the Yokohama Autism Association.
It contains the state of daily life of people with autism and the state of WEB seminars conducted by the Yokohama City Autism Association for students of Yokohama Nursery and Welfare College.
Through this video, we will spread the understanding of citizens about "autism".
Message
Yokohama City Autism Association
People with autism spectrum disorder are serious and calm people. However, there are times when the way things are perceived is unique, the way they feel a little different, and it is difficult to express one's intentions and feelings in words properly and honestly. Such behaviors and actions can be regarded as "selfishness" or may be reprimanded and subject to guidance and correction. Incomprehension of disability is misunderstood, sometimes creating misfortune and tragedy. People with autism spectrum disorder have been highlighted these days, but they have been around for a long time.
If you look at this video and think, "I was in this kind of person class" or "The shades are different, but there are similar places in myself", you may be kind to people with similar characteristics around you You may be kind to you, or you may seem natural to be next to you.
It's hard for everyone to live. Everybody can live hard and be happy! It was finished in a video that leads to such thoughts.
Iwasaki Gakuen School Corporation
I am very pleased to participate in the educational video production for "World Autism Awareness Day in Yokohama" together with Yokohama City Autism Association and Yokohama City.
In producing the video, parents who are actually raising children with autism talked about raising children. In an era full of information, it may be easy to learn about autism, but listening to actual child care is a very valuable opportunity for students, and I feel that there has been a major change in their thoughts toward autism.
Our school is rooted in Yokohama and sends many students every year to a wide range of fields, including IT, fashion, beauty, design, rehabilitation, medical affairs, nursing, and childcare. In order to recognize each other's different sensibilities and individuality, create a society that supports each other, and to increase the momentum from the young people who will work together and the future society, we will continue to contribute with little effort.
※Iwasaki Gakuen School Corporation
Founded in 1927. Focusing on IT, fashion, design, rehabilitation medical care, medical office work, nursing, and childcare vocational school education, graduate universities that are responsible for human resource development in information security, NPO support and museums, reemployment support, child care support projects I am doing. In addition, we had students of Yokohama childcare welfare college cooperate about making video.
