At Yokohama Port, "Asuka II (outside site)" (Yusen Cruise Co., Ltd.) and "Nippon Maru (outside site)" (MOL Ship Mitsui Passenger Co., Ltd.) resumed short cruises in Japan from November, and in December "Pashifuku Binas (outside site)" (Japan Cruise Liner Co., Ltd.) has also resumed domestic short cruises.

Under the supervision of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, each company has been working to resume operations, including the preparation of a manual to prevent and spread of COVID-19 infection for its own operated vessels in accordance with the "COVID-19 Infection Prevention Guidelines for Coastal Cruise Ship Operators (September 18, 2020 (first edition)" formulated by the Japan Coastal Passenger Ship Association (external site).

In order to verify these effectiveness, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (external site), a fair third-party organization, established the Biosafety Management System for COVID-19 on Cruise Ships, and has been certified by the Association through manual documents and onboard inspections, management systems through trial operation, and responses to infected person outbreaks through training.

In addition, at Yokohama Port, together with related organizations including national and prefectural health departments, we checked in advance the status of measures onboard ships and measures against infectious diseases such as disembarkation and transportation of infected person.
Furthermore, for the time being, Yokohama Port will provide domestic cruise ships with a fleet of domestic cruise ships.

• PCR test for all passengers before boarding
• Deploying a virus inspection system onboard
• In the unlikely event that an infection occurs on board, accommodation facilities, transportation arrangements, etc.

We have established a thorough system, including confirmation of measures against infectious diseases.
