About clay roof tile

An engraved photo of clay roof tile at the time of its foundation

The roof of Akarengasoko is pantile roofing, and about 140,000 tiles are used in both warehouses No. 1 and No. 2. The tiles used in Akarengasoko are smaller than the normal size. Currently, the mainstream 53 editions require 53 copies per tsubo, but Akarengasoko uses 64 editions (280mm in length and 275mm in width). The tiles at the beginning of the foundation are engraved as "Sanshu Kikusen Chosen Aai Yokohama Port Shiyasui Iri", indicating that the production area is Sanshu (Mikawa).
