3.Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction: World War II

From 1924 to 1945

The reconstruction of the earthquake was carried out in a hurry, and almost returned to its original form at the beginning of the Showa era. At the same time, new construction was started, and the port maintenance was continued, with Takashima Wharf and Yamauchi Wharf being constructed from 1921 (Daisho 10) to 1934 (Showa 9). .
Around this time, land reclamation of the current factory sites in Ebisu, Takara, and Daikokucho in Tsurumi and Kanagawa progressed, and in the Keihin industrial area, the munitions industry (Gunju Sangyo) )  However, the number of factories continued to increase.

After that, we began construction to enlarge the port, but soon after the Pacific War began and did not proceed as expected, and at the end of the war, Yokohama Port was once again severely damaged by air raids.
