CNP Japan-US Workshop “Carbon Neutral Ports (CNP) Online Workshop by U.S. and Japan”
Yokohama Port is working with the national government and private companies to create a carbon-neutral port (CNP) in order to realize a decarbonized society by 2050. In addition, Japan and the United States announced their cooperation in the formation of the CNP in the Japan-U.S.-Japan Joint Statement last April.
The Port of Yokohama's Carbon Neutral Port Initiative (Yokohama Port's CNP Formation Initiative) was held online, and Yokohama City also participated in this workshop, entitled "The Port of Yokohama's Carbon Neutral Port Initiative (Yokohama Port's CNP Formation Initiatives)" and announced initiatives in the harbor area such as LNG bunkering and land power supply to ships, and next-generation energy such as hydrogen.
