(Disability Discrimination Case 5) Public facilities for the visually impaired

Last updated on February 5, 2021.

  • All cases received do not correspond to "disability discrimination". In addition, we have not confirmed whether the contents are true.
  • Information on names of individuals, facilities, etc. is excluded from the published content.
  • A detailed explanation of long-term cases and the situation will be provided with a summary.

Details of the case

About lack of consideration for low vision. It's hard to see the distinction between men and women in the toilet. Visually impaired organizations are promoting easy-to-understand displays in a unified manner. Women are pink circles, men are blue triangles, and multifunctional toilets are green squares, all of which are reliefs that can be seen by touching. It's an era where many foreigners visit, so you need a world-standard one that can be easily seen and touched. At least, please develop legislation that can be adopted only at public facilities and stations.

Regarding the case, what I wanted to do and what I thought would be better.
