(Disability Discrimination Case 2) Public facilities for the physically handicapped

Last updated on February 4, 2021.

  • All cases received do not correspond to "disability discrimination". In addition, we have not confirmed whether the contents are true.
  • Information on names of individuals, facilities, etc. is excluded from the published content.
  • A detailed explanation of long-term cases and the situation will be provided with a summary.

Details of the case

A cultural facility. It is a very difficult building for wheelchair users. Wheelchair seats can only be taken at the end, the elevator going to that point is small, and if there are many elderly people, giving up their order will be the last. Wheelchair toilets at other cultural facilities are difficult to enter and exit when waiting for the order before entering a private room. Overall, Yokohama City does not feel kindness in terms of both hardware and software. The service industry, such as private hotels and department stores, is much easier to use and the response is kind.

Regarding the case, what I wanted to do and what I thought would be better.
