The Board of Education conducts surveys on asbestos-containing spraying materials at school facilities to ensure safety measures for elementary school studenｔ students. At the stage of the investigation, as of the evening of August 30, the use of spraying materials containing asbestos was found at Higashi Gumizawa Elementary School, so we will respond as follows.
1 Asbestos used
Crysotile (Shiraishi cotton) 50% staircase, 4th floor ceiling
2 Survey of scattering
We will promptly investigate the amount of scattering in the air.
3 Temporary closure
The school will be closed temporarily from Wednesday, August 31, 2005 to Friday, September 2, in order to conduct a scattering survey.
4 Future Responses
We will respond appropriately based on the results of the scattering survey.
