Efforts for Safety and Security of School Lunch
Yokohama Municipal School school lunch complies with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's “School Lunch Hygiene Management Standards” and other laws and regulations on food hygiene and public health, and fully understands the purpose of the School Lunch Act. We properly manage hygiene based on the “Hygiene Management Standards” and the “School Lunch Safety and Health Management Comprehensive Manual” formulated by the city for each school type. In addition, we strive to provide higher quality school lunch through food hygiene inspections and hygiene management training to ensure safe and secure use of elementary school student students and their parents.

For supplies (foodstuffs) used at Yokohama Municipal School school lunch, we conduct food hygiene inspections to ensure safety and security and to ensure compliance with material standards.

Since fiscal 2024, the Health Education and Food Education Division has been conducting inspections of supplies delivered to each school lunch cooking manufacturer. In anticipation of the procurement of supplies from 2026 onward, the program is being implemented in cooperation with the Yokohama School Food Education Foundation.

Concept of Publication (Guidelines for Publication)
For the purpose of providing safe and secure access to school meals for elementary school student students and parents, we will provide individual explanations to the relevant elementary school student students and parents in case of incident.
In addition, we will make a comprehensive decision and make a press release based on consideration of the presence or absence of health hazards, the importance of cases of whether or not it is dangerous foreign matter, the impact of discontinuing the provision of school lunch, and the magnitude of the impact of several schools. Specifically, I think of the following.
(1) If a student in elementary school student suffers health damage
(2) Significant events involving elementary school student students (if they are recognized as being subject to compliance due to serious crisis management negligence)
(3) If one or more menus are canceled at multiple schools
We will make a press release based on these guidelines, but we will review them as necessary in light of changes in social conditions.
These guidelines shall be shared by Yokohama City School school lunch.
Reports on measures to ensure the safety of ingredients in school lunch
