Overview
Kanagawa Ward is located almost in the center of the city and occupies the coastal area of Yokohama and central Shin-Yokohama. In the eastern coastal area, there are factories and offices in landfills, etc., and inland, residential areas spread with undulating terrain. Kanagawa fire department's headquarters, four fire departments, approximately 180 employees and 32 fire trucks carry out daily tasks such as fire prevention, disaster prevention and emergency services in the ward.
