Tsurumi Library Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award

In order to contribute to the further promotion of reading activities, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology commends the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to schools, libraries, and organizations (individuals) who practice distinctive and outstanding practices.
This time, Tsurumi Library was selected as the "Children's Reading Activity Excellent Practice Library" in 2018. The award ceremony was held at the "Children's Reading Activity Promotion Forum" held on Monday, April 23 Children's Reading Day, and case presentations were made as representatives of 47 award libraries nationwide. .

A major factor in the award was that we have been conducting a project called "Tsurumikko Picture Book Plaza" for less than 20 years since 1999.
This program is for 4-month-old and 1-year-old and 6-month-old children to introduce picture books and children's songs to parents and children at the Tsurumi Ward Office every month. The service covers a total of 360 times a year and provides services to more than 3,000 pairs of parents and children.
Tsurumi Ward Office Children and Families Support Division and Tsurumi Library cooperate to train and support staff. In addition, the Tsurumi Library provides detailed services according to the growth of children, such as age-specific talks, support for nursery schools and elementary schools, and I am very honored that these have been evaluated. .
This award was received by Tsurumi Library, and we believe that it was given to many stakeholders who have continued to support these projects.
