Resurrection of the Irie River Babbling
Last updated on July 19, 2024.
Creation of watersides in cities
The Irie River used to be a river using spring water from the mountains as a water source, but due to the progress of urbanization, spring water has decreased and water pollution has also progressed.
Since then, the water quality has been improved with the improvement of the surrounding sewerage system, but the depletion of the river has not changed, and the Irie River has been losing its function as a river.
In order to nurture a clean and rich waterside in the future, it is necessary to work together not only water quality but also water volume and surrounding environment.
Therefore, in order to revive clean water flow using sewage treatment water, secure water volume, and create amenity that takes advantage of the waterfront, the Irie River Seseragi Green Road, which is a place for relaxation and interaction through planting and installation of promenadeKanagawa Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Changes in water quality and flow rate of the Irie River (Irie Bridge)
Based on the results of water quality measurement for public water bodies in Kanagawa Prefecture
BOD: Biochemical oxygen demand.
An indicator of dirt caused by organic matter, the amount of oxygen consumed by microorganisms in water when decomposing organic matter. The higher the amount of pollutants.
Flow rate: The amount of water flowing in a river in fine weather.
The Irie River has been revived.
