Guidelines (Guidelines)

Guidelines (Guidelines) for the application of pesticides in consideration of the environment in the neighborhood

These guidelines stipulate matters to consider the surrounding environment when spraying pesticides on farmland adjacent to or mixed with houses, etc., and ensure that farmers and local residents protect them. The purpose is to realize safe and secure civil life.
1.Matters that farmers want to observe when spraying pesticides
(1) Efforts shall be made to minimize the scattering of pesticides.
(2) Protect the purpose of use, applied pesticides, number of times and amount, and spray in an appropriate manner.
(3) We strive to reduce the number and amount of pesticide spraying by keeping in mind environmental conservation-type control.
(4) We shall endeavor to inform the local residents in advance.
(5) Record cultivation records and control records.
(6) Strive to respond to the residents in good faith in order to gain an understanding of the necessary agricultural work.
2.Matters to ask for the cooperation of citizens
Neighboring residents shall take voluntary measures and cooperate when farmers are notified of the spraying of pesticides.
3.Matters to be addressed by the government and agricultural cooperatives
In order to eliminate the damage and anxiety of residents due to the application of pesticides, we will strive to provide guidance to farmers and promote them to citizens.

Specific precautions for complying with guidelines (guidelines)

1.Specific precautions for preventing the scattering of pesticides
(1) Spray at a time when there is little effect on the neighborhood.
(2) Consider the weather and wind direction.
(3) Use pesticides that are as little as possible.
(4) Pay attention to the direction of the spray nozzle to reduce the scattering of pesticides.
(5) Prevent scattering by means such as installing medicine nets and hedges.
(6) Cultivate crops and varieties that are resistant to pests so that the number of pesticide sprays is reduced near houses.
(7) Immediately before spraying pesticides, pay attention to whether there are houses with windows, futons and laundry that are not taken in.
2.Other precautions related to pesticide spraying
(1) Farmers shall ensure thorough health management, use of protective equipment, and storage and management of pesticides in order to prevent accidents caused by pesticides.
(2) Farmers will actively promote agriculture in consideration of the local residents and the environment, actively promote the contents of agricultural work, and communicate with neighboring residents to gain understanding.
(3) Neighboring residents will pay interest in the agricultural information provided by farmers, and will deepen their understanding of urban agriculture and agricultural work and strive for cooperation.
