Launch of the local recyclables collection System

In response to the growing awareness of garbage reduction and recycling, we decided to focus on the voluntary collection of local organizations and resource recovery companies and promote it. .

 Voluntary collection by local communities and contractors

At that time, officers from Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations and others were pulling rear cars themselves to collect recyclables.

After the start of the grant, citizens, businesses, and the government play their respective roles and greatly contribute to the reduction and recycling of garbage.

History of the Grant

In 1983, Yokohama City started a subsidy program for registered organizations.

Initially, it started with the subsidy of goods (rear cars), and in 1989, it was changed to a fixed-rate incentive.

From 1990, a subsidy of 3 yen has been issued according to the amount collected, and continues to the present.

In addition, since 1993, incentives have been issued to collection companies according to the amount collected.
