What is a specific measuring instrument?
"Specific measuring instruments" specified by the Measurement Law
There are a variety of measuring instruments around us. According to the Measurement Law, among measuring instruments that are used for measurement in transactions or certifications, or are mainly used for the lives of general consumers, in order to ensure proper measurement, A total of 18 types of "specified measuring instruments" (PDF: 160KB) have been established as those that need to determine standards for differences.
Marks attached to "Specific measuring instruments"
"Specific measuring instruments" are subject to various regulations by the Measurement Law, and the following marks are given as proofs that conform to the standards according to their needs.
Certification seal
Standard conformity seal
"Certification" means that at the stage of manufacture or repair of "specified measuring instruments", public institutions such as the national or prefectural governments inspect whether their performance and structure conform to the standards stipulated by the Measurement Law. is. Some "certification" have a validity period depending on the type of "specified measuring instrument".
(The “Standard Compliance Mark” is the same as the legal effect of the “Certification Mark”).
Certificate of periodic inspection
The "scales" used for transactions and certifications must be marked with a certification seal, and must be inspected every two years.
Paste the "periodic inspection certificate" on the "scale" that has passed the periodic inspection.
Seal of household measuring instruments
"Home-use" kitchen meters and health meters are assumed to be used to measure cooking materials at home and measure weight. Therefore, the standard for "home use" is a slower standard than the standard for passing the "certification".
Household "scales" cannot be used for transactions or certifications.
Instrument inspection seal
"Instrument inspection" refers to the inspection of whether the performance of the vehicle mounted on a taxi meter and tires conforms to the standards stipulated by law.
