Information on exchange meetings

We hold exchange meetings mainly for people involved in reading activities in Aoba Ward, such as library activities, reading stories, and lending books at facilities.

Part 1 Lecture by Keiya Iwai 

Mr. Keiya Iwai will talk about local activities through books, focusing on initiatives such as "Novel x Town Walking" project "Always from the station" set along the Keio Line and workshops for high school students. .


Lecturer Keiya Iwai (Noveler)

In 2018, he won the 9th Field Age Frontier Literature Prize for "Proof of Eternity". In 2023, "The Last Appraiser" was a candidate for the 76th Japan Inference Writers Association Award and a series of short editors category, and the 36th Shugoro Yamamoto Award for "Full White Gin". In 2024, he was a candidate for the 77th Japan Inference Writers Association Award feature and continuous short editorial category for "Paradise Dog".


Part 2 Exchange Meeting 

In addition to exchanging information on daily activities, we will receive a lecture in Part 1 and exchange opinions on what we thought could do with your activities, and what we wanted to cooperate with each facility and group.

    Part 2 (Exchange Meeting): 15:40~16:15
[Place] 401 Meeting Room on the 4th floor of Aoba Ward Office
[Target] Those who are mainly involved in reading activities in Aoba Ward or who are interested in reading activities in the community, such as story-telling groups, book lending facilities staff, school librarians, after-school elementary school student Healthy Development Office staff, nursery teachers, etc.
[Capacity] ①Participation in the venue: 50 people (one who can participate in both the first and second parts, up to 2 people per group)
    ②Online participation: No capacity (Part 1 only)
※If the capacity is exceeded, it will be a lottery. In addition, since participation in the venue includes an exchange meeting, those who have experience in reading activities will be given priority.
※Those who participate only in Part 1 will, in principle, participate online, unless there is a vacancy in the venue.

We hold reading activity promotion business Sawako Agawa lecture "father of writer and me" of the 30th anniversary of Aoba ward system! (Thursday, November 7, 2024) ※It's finished.


Lecture Information

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Aoba Ward System, we will welcome Sawako Asakawa and hold a lecture at Aoba public hall. Sawako Asakawa will talk plenty on the theme of "I'm a writer's father and me."
In addition, at the Yamauchi Library, special exhibitions will be held by Hiroyuki Agawa, a writer whose father and related to Aoba Ward, and a permanent corner will be set up after the exhibition period.

At the lecture venue, books by Sawako Agawa and Hiroyuki Agawa will be sold.
For those who purchase Sawako Asakawa's book, an autograph session will be held after the lecture.

Mr. Sawako Agawa

Profile

Born in 1953. An essayist, novelist. Received the Joji Tsubota Literary Prize for "Umeko", the Kodansha Essay Award for "Oh, I eat this way" (co-authored with Fumi Dan), and the Kiyoshi Shima Love Literature Award for "After engagement". He has appeared on TV programs such as "Beet Takeshi's TV tackle", "Sunday My Choice" (TV Asahi), "Tsurube-chan and Sawako-chan" (BS12), and has been active in dramas and commercials.

Venue: public hall Aoba (Ichigaocho, Aoba-ku, 31-4)
Target: First 550 students who live, attend school, or work in Aoba Ward and are junior high school students or higher
Host: Aoba Ward Office, Yamauchi Library
※Hiroyuki Agawa's special exhibition at the Yamauchi Library will be held from Wednesday, October 16 to Tuesday, November 12.
 After that, a permanent corner was set up.

Information on Aoba Story Festival 2024

Aoba Ward organizes the Aoba Story Festival, a group of local community-based reading groups that offer children's picture story show, puppet shows, and adult stories and readings.
