Overview

The Asako Terahara Tumulus is located on the plateau on the Tanimoto Kawakita side of Ichigao, Aoba Ward. This group of tombs consists of three round burial mound discovered in the ruins of Asako Terahara, centered on the moat settlement in the middle Yayoi period. An excavation survey was conducted in 1967, and armor such as eyebrows, triangular board studs, iron swords, iron swords, iron swords, iron swords, iron arrowheads, and harnessescomma-shaped bead were discovered. From these relics, it is thought that Tomb No. 1 was built in the latter half of the 5th century, Tomb No. 2 was built around the 6th century, and Tomb No. 3 was built in the first half of the 6th century. The relics excavated from this group of tombs have outstanding content in both quality and quantity. Among them, the instep with eyebrows and triangular board studded short shells have few excavations in the Kanto region, and is the only discovery in Kanagawa Prefecture.
