Izumi Ward is located in the southwestern part of Yokohama City, with a beautiful cityscape surrounded by greenery such as farmland and forests, and a magnificent view of Mount Fuji. In the Izumi River, reminiscent of the babbling of the brook, you can enjoy the scenery of Jizo Hara's waterside and Semi flying, and there is also Tenno Moriizumi Park where fireflies dance in summer. In addition, the Akuwa River, which flows through the northwestern part of the ward, has many hydrophilic bases and allows you to enjoy a stroll. Under the philosophy of "a rural culture city full of peace and moisture," we are promoting community development, a unique and attractive city development utilizing local resources such as the natural environment.
Izumi fire department has established Okazu, Nakata, Izumino and Ryokuen offices in the ward, and employs approximately 150 staff members and 27 fire trucks to ensure fire and disaster prevention in the ward.
