Yokohama Wooden House Seismic Retrofitting Aid Project

The Yokohama City Wooden House Seismic Retrofit Improvement Promotion Project is a system in which the city subsidizes a part of the seismic retrofitting work cost of wooden private houses.

　Buildings that fall under the following 1. to 3. (For other requirements, please refer to the application guide.)

1. Wooden private houses with a conventional frame construction method of 2 stories or less that were started with construction confirmation before the end of May 2000.
2. Houses where the owner or relatives within the first degree of the owner live by the completion of the renovation work
3. In the above houses, houses whose score (superstructure rating, etc.) is determined to be less than 1.0 as a result of an earthquake-resistant diagnosis conducted by an architect.

※Houses whose superstructure rating is determined to be 1.0 or more in the seismic diagnosis (diagnosis after September 1, 2007) by the general diagnosis method performed by Yokohama City are excluded.
※The results of the free seismic diagnosis conducted by Yokohama City cannot be used in the "Results of Seismic Diagnosis conducted by Architects". Please ask the architect again.

Residents or prospective residents of the house undergoing renovation work

• Seismic retrofitting work with a score of 1.0 or more by seismic diagnosis due to reinforcement of foundations, reinforcement of braces (bearing walls), replacement of roofs for weight reduction, etc.
• Energy-saving renovation work that achieves the ZEH level (grade 5) or higher in the design house performance evaluation report or the building energy-saving performance display system (BELS) evaluation report by insulation work and equipment efficiency work performed at the same time as seismic retrofitting.

• For seismic retrofitting work costs, we will provide assistance with the subsidy limit shown in the table below according to the taxation classification of the household.

※　Tax-exempt households are households in which all households have not been subject to residence tax for the past two years.

At first, please refer to design company (architect) that "we want to perform earthquake-resistant repair work using assistance of Yokohama-shi".
The assistance application procedure will be exchanged with the commissioned design company in Yokohama City.

• Yokohama City has implemented a system to register reliable design and construction companies in Yokohama City with the aim of preventing troubles caused by malicious businesses and starting seismic retrofitting work with peace of mind.
• When performing seismic retrofitting work using this system, only registered businesses can design and construct. Temporary registration is required when a non-registered company designs and constructs.
• Since the availability and characteristics of design and construction vary from company to company, it is recommended that you consult with multiple companies and select a company that meets your wishes.
• Construction companies are limited to city contractors (contractors with headquarters in the city).

Design and construction company registration system To citizens

After using the free earthquake-resistant diagnosis of Yokohama City or the use of the earthquake-resistant repair assistance system in Yokohama City, if the score (superstructure rating, etc.) by the earthquake-resistant diagnosis is determined to be 1.0 or more, a document certifying that it has earthquake resistance And a sign (gate seal) will be issued.

If you perform seismic retrofitting, you can receive special tax measures. When we perform earthquake-resistant repair work using supporting system in Yokohama-shi, we can issue "house earthquake-resistant repair certificate" necessary for special measures.
In order for those who have undergone seismic retrofitting to receive a special deduction for income tax and a reduction in property tax (wooden house)

Subsidies pertaining to energy-saving renovation performed by the Yokohama City Housing Policy Division and subsidies pertaining to seismic retrofitting work in this project can be used together.
However, please note that it cannot be used in conjunction with the addition of subsidies for energy-saving renovation work in this project.
