About authorization of plan of earthquake-resistant repair of building

In Yokohama City, we certify the "Plan for Seismic Retrofitting of Buildings" based on Article 17, Paragraph 3 of the Act on Promotion of Seismic Retrofitting of Buildings (hereinafter referred to as the "Law"). If certified, there are relaxation of the provisions of the Building Standards Law and special measures. In addition, in order to receive the certification, a third party's evaluation is required for the seismic reinforcement plan.

Relaxation of restrictions on existing ineligibility

When the plan is approved as conforming to the standards listed in Article 17, Paragraph 3, Item 1, Item 2 and Item 3 of the Seismic Retrofit Promotion Act,

In the case of extension, renovation, large-scale repair, or large-scale remodeling, existing non-qualifications other than earthquake-resistant regulations will not be applied retroactively.

Relaxation of restrictions on fire-resistant buildings

When the plan is approved as conforming to the standards listed in Article 17, Paragraph 3, Item 1, Item 2 and Item 4 of the Seismic Retrofit Promotion Act,

In the case of new construction of pillars, walls, and remodeling of pillars and beams, the provisions of the Building Standards Law pertaining to fire-resistant buildings are not applied.

Relaxation of restrictions on floor area ratio

When the plan is approved as conforming to the standards listed in Article 17, Paragraph 3, Item 1, Item 2 and Item 5 of the Seismic Retrofit Promotion Act,

At the time of extension, it is not subject to the provisions of the Building Standards Law pertaining to floor area ratio.

Relaxation of restrictions on building coverage

When the plan is approved as conforming to the standards listed in Article 17, Paragraph 3, Item 1, Item 2 and Item 6 of the Seismic Retrofit Promotion Act,

At the time of extension, the provisions of the Building Standards Law pertaining to the building coverage are not applied.


※If the plan for seismic retrofitting requires a building confirmation or notification of the plan, if the plan is approved, it will be deemed that a certificate of confirmation has been issued.
