Target buildings

When new construction, extension or renovation of a building, a building with a total floor area (in the case of extension or renovation, the floor area of the part pertaining to the extension or renovation) of 2,000 m2 or more is referred to as "specific buildings". Notification of consideration plans is required.
In addition, from April 1, 2012, buildings less than 2,000 m2, including detached houses, can be reported arbitrarily as "non-specific buildings" if desired.
- "Specific buildings" with a total floor area of 2,000 m2 or more → Duty of notification
- Buildings with a total floor area of less than 2,000 m2 "non-specific buildings" → Any notification can be made.
