Building Renewable Energy Use Promotion Area System

In April 2025, Yokohama City launched the Building Renewable Energy Use Promotion Area (hereinafter referred to as the "Renewable Energy Promotion Area") system based on the Act on Improvement of Energy Consumption Performance of Buildings (Building Energy Conservation Law). You.

The renewable energy promotion area will be the entire Yokohama city, and the following measures will be applied in the area.

• Obligation to explain the effect of introducing renewable energy equipment from architects to building owners
  (Yokohama City has established the “Yokohama City Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Explanation System” that integrally explains the energy-saving performance of houses.)
• Duty of building owners to make efforts for installation of renewable energy facilities
• Relaxation of form regulations related to the installation of renewable energy facilities

※Renewable energy utilization equipment promoted by Yokohama City (hereinafter referred to as "renewable energy equipment") will be solar power generation equipment and solar heat utilization equipment.
