Construction restricted areas such as residential land development
In Yokohama City, on April 1, 2025, "Construction restricted areas such as residential land development" will be designated throughout Yokohama City.
For land where regulated acts are performed or land where regulated acts have been performed in the past, an obligation to maintain the land in a safe state at all times (according to the provisions of Article 22, Paragraph 1 of the Act) is stipulated. If it is deemed that there is a great risk of a disaster, it may be subject to recommendations or improvement orders depending on the situation.
Development residential land disaster prevention area
Due to the revision of the regulation law on residential land development in 2006, the mayor can designate existing residential land outside the residential land development construction restricted area as "built residential land disaster prevention area". . (There is no designation in Yokohama City.) In the residential land disaster prevention area, conservation obligations for residential land will occur.
※"Restricted areas such as specific embankments" and "Developed residential land disaster prevention areas" are specified except for "Construction restricted areas such as residential land development", so they are not specified in Yokohama City.
