Seminar events were held for Japanese companies who are engaged in open innovation with overseas startups or are interested in Japanese companies.
At this event, we invited Mr. Ninomiya of ShibuLA Ventures, a venture builder from bilingual engineers who has also started several startups overseas, and Mr. Odashima of Start2, a startup support organization that Yokohama City has signed a partnership agreement, and Mr. Tsuji of ITOCHU Europe PLC, a global business expert in the United States and Europe, and Stanford University.

A technical startup support base opened on November 11, 2024. Leveraging R&D and the accumulation of engineers from global companies in Yokohama, we aim to create unicorn-class startups in the tech sector, including Clean Tech and mobility.

ShibuLA Ventures Co-Founder Mr. Kevin Ninomiya
Currently based in New York, he has a wide range of experience, from startups to large companies, and is a venture builder, ecosystem developer, and U.S. attorney. After working as an electrical product development engineer, he experienced innovation-related work in the digital transformation (DX) and green transformation (GX) fields at large companies, and also founded EdTech startups.
In 2023, he founded the law firm Global Gateway Law and venture studio ShibuLA Ventures to help startups and large companies enter the US market, while also serving as a leading accelerator and startup advisor such as Berkeley SkyDeck and Bronco Venture Accelerator in Silicon Valley.

Start2 Japan Representative Alex Tasuke Odajima
As a business incubation specialist, he is involved in the launch of numerous startups and the development of new businesses for companies. EDGEof, an innovation hub established in 2018, has been developing a number of innovative projects with over 15,000 visitors from more than 50 countries around the world over two years. Even now, when the physical base was closed due to COVID-19, he continues to support collaboration between companies and startups and engages in various activities that connect the innovation ecosystem between Japan and overseas.
He is involved in innovation-related measures in collaboration with embassies and startup support organizations in various countries such as Canada, Germany, France, and Estonia, and has been involved as a mentor in many startup development programs. Mr. Ryosuke Tsuji, Deputy General Manager, ITOCHU Europe PLC ※Speaking online
He has more than 10 years of management experience as a co-founder and COO of startups, and has been active as a global business expert. In addition, we will promote the development of new businesses, M&A, and the establishment and withdrawal of business companies in Japan, the United States, China, etc.
Since 2020, he has been stationed as the director of the Silicon Valley Office for three years, investing in the United States' top VC funds and developing businesses, and realizing startups in Japan and Asia. In addition, he also serves as an advisor to Berkeley SkyDeck. Since 2023, he has been developing a new business with European startups based in London.

Mr. Yohei Iwasaki, CEO of Anfie
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo, he worked as a lawyer at Asahi Nishimura Law Office. He studied abroad at Stanford University and earned MBA and MS.
While at school, he founded Moasis, won various business plan competitions in Silicon Valley, including Stanford University, and raised funds from North Bridge Venture Partners (600 billion yen fund), and sold business. He was involved in the post-processing of the Fukushima nuclear power plant as the head of Japan at Curion. Cullion also sold its business. Currently co-founder at Anfie.
