Hiroto Hirata (6th year at Shimonagaya Elementary School), who won first place in the piano section (elementary school section) of the 77th All Japan Student Music Competition in Yokohama held in Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall on December 2, 2023, and received the Yokohama Citizen Award (Audit Award) at the same time, will report the award to Mayor Takeharu Yamanaka, Yokohama.
It is the first time in 14 years since 2009 (2009, the 63rd meeting) that municipal school students receive the first place in the contest and the Yokohama Citizen's Award (Audience Award) at the same time.
