As of 4:00 p.m., fires that occurred at the City of Yokohama, Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau Hodogaya Plant (paused from April 2010 and operated as a garbage relay facility), are being extinguished.
1 Overview
(1)Date and time of occurrence March 20 (Sat) around 4:15 am
(2)Location 355, Karibacho, Hodogaya-ku
(3)Location of waste Concrete waste pit (a place to temporarily store waste) in Hodogaya Plant
(4)Cause unknown
(5)There were no reports of damage to human or surrounding buildings following the damage situation fire.
(6)Fire extinguishing situation Firefighting activities are being carried out while exhausting smoke filling the building by firefighting.
2 Outline of facilities
The Hodogaya Plant has been shut down since April 2010 and has been operating as a garbage relay facility.
