Friendship exchange with Showa Village

　Showa Village, Gunma Prefecture, is located at the northernmost tip of Tone County, at the northern foot of Akajo, borders Tone Town (former Tonemura) in Numata City to the east, Kata Shinagawa to the north, borders Numata City, and in the south, Akagi-cho, Shibukawa City (formerly Akagi-mura, Seta-gun).
　In addition to konjac potatoes, which boast the highest production volume in Japan, plateau vegetables such as lettuce and spinach are special products.
　Since the establishment of the Yokohama City Shonen Nature House Akagi Rinkan Gakuen (formerly the Yokohama City Mount Akagi Citizen Outdoor Activity Center) in Showa Village in 1972, Showa Village and Yokohama City have been interacting with each other. I am. Many elementary and junior high schools in Yokohama use the "Yokohama City Shonen Nature House Akagi Rinkan Gakuen" in Showa Village as accommodation experience learning destinations.

• Showa 47 (1972) Former "Mount Akagi Citizen Outdoor Activity Center in Yokohama City" was opened in Showa Village.
• Showa-mura elementary school studenｔ started an invitation trip to Yokohama in 1973.
• Concluded "Agreement on Mutual Support in the Event of a Disaster" in 2005.
• In 2013, concluded an "Agreement on Friendship and Exchange between Yokohama City and Showa Village"
• Support by Yokohama City staff volunteers in response to the damage caused by the snow damage in Showa Village in 2014.
• In 2017, Showa-mura facilities started "Special treatment service for Yokohama citizens"

　Yokohama citizens who visited Showa Village can use the facilities in the village, such as sports grounds and hot springs, at a discount.

　We promote active exchange between residents of both municipalities, cooperate with each other, and issue subsidies up to 200,000 yen per group for activities to revitalize the region.
