Initiatives related to “2017”

2018 (2018) is 150 years from the first year of the Meiji era (1868).
The government has created a logo mark for 2017, and as a related measure, local governments and local governments.
We have made efforts across the country, including local governments and the private sector.

In Yokohama City, we look back on the Meiji period, which can be said to be the starting point of the development of Yokohama.
To this end, we implemented the following related measures.

　Ito Hirobumi, Hideyo Noguchi, Shintaro Ohashi and Sanetomi Sanjo at the Kanazawa Library in Yokohama.

　At the Seya Library in Yokohama, we combine Fuji Xerox multifunction machines with the latest technology.
Photographs of Yokohama during the Meiji period in Municipal Central Library, which were reproduced just like the real thing.

　At the Isogo Library in Yokohama City, Nishiki-e from the opening of the port in Municipal Central Library.
Precision images of maps and paintings were reproduced and panels were displayed.

　The history of Yokohama Water Supply, which was born in 1887 as Japan's first modern water supply system, is described in 1887.

●special exhibition at the former Ito Hirobumi Kanazawa annex
　Major achievements from the time Ito Hirobumi became governor of Hyogo Prefecture until he died.
Introducing photos and explanations. There are 25 panels on display at Ito Hirobumi in Hagi City and other cities.

●Symposium “Boshin war and Regions Seen from Diary: 150 Years of the Meiji Restoration”
　At Tokai University (Shonan School Building), we view the historical incident of Boshin war from a local perspective.
At the same time, a symposium was held to examine the state of local communities in modern times.

●Yashima Gakuen University Open Lecture 2017 Commemorative First Mayor of Yokohama Tomo Masuda The unknown youth of the rejection swordsman of the Mibu Domain

●Kanto Gakuin University Fall Semester Open Lecture "Study Yokohama: Harris Called for Kanagawa: Why Kanagawa:
It was: The late Tokugawa shogunate of Japan read through Kanagawa-juku, a key point of land and sea."
　Kanagawa is an important post town on the 53rd Tokaido, and its beach ura is the Tokugawa Shogun family.
