Minami Honmoku Wharf has been under construction since 1990 with the aim of improving the depth and high-standard container Bath in response to the increase in container cargo and the size of container ships. As the newest wharf in Yokohama Port, in April 2001 (2001), the first area (including MC-1 and 2) started operation, and MC-3, which boasts the world's largest water depth of 18m quay, We started maintenance from 2007 and started service in 2015. Similarly, the MC-4 with a depth of 18m quay started maintenance in FY2013 and started operation in April 2021, enabling integrated operation of MC1 to 4, and ships on various routes have become able to use the entire facility flexibly according to the ship type and schedule.

(1) Minami Honmoku Pier Reclaiming and Container Terminal Development Project
Landfill business
・Obtained a public water landfill license in January 1990.
・A total of approximately 217 ha is divided into five blocks to start landfilling.
・As of July 2021, 1st to 4th blocks and part of the 5th blocks were completed.

Container Terminal Development Project

・Started under the direct control of the government in fiscal 1990.

・MC-1 and 2 terminals (water depth: 16m, 350m each for quay extension) have been in service since FY2001.
・MC-3 Terminal (water depth: 18m, quay extension: 400m) has been in service since FY2015.
・MC-4 terminal (water depth 18m, quay extension 500m) has been in service since FY2021.
