What kind of work do you do in Public Works Office?

Public Works Office primarily designs and supervises roads, bridges, rivers, waterways, public sewers, general sewers, and parks. We prevent illegal occupation on roads, rivers, and waterways, remove illegally occupied properties, and investigate and survey the boundaries between private land and roads, rivers and waterways. In addition, we perform some licensing affairs related to the Road Law, the Sewerage Law, and the City Planning Law.

(Reference) Approval and approval of road construction, etc. performed by persons other than road managers pursuant to the provisions of Article 24 of the Road Law.

・Traffic certification based on the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance.
・Approval of the construction of public sewers performed by persons other than Yokohama City pursuant to the provisions of Article 16 of the Sewerage Law.
・Investigations and guidance on roads and drainage facilities installed by residential land development work performed by development activities based on the City Planning Act, etc.
・Permission in parks based on the City Parks Act and the Yokohama City Park Ordinance, permission to set up park facilities, permission to occupy parks, etc.
