Gayakko Expedition <Recruiting participants for the 7th year!>
This is a hands-on learning program for elementary school students planned by students of Yokohama National University. Let's have fun learning with friends of different schools and grades!
Overview
Schedule 7 times a year
①June 14 (Saturday) 27/12 (Saturday) 3 From Friday, 8/22 to Saturday, 23 ※Accommodation experience
④October 25 (Saturday) 5 November 22 (Saturday) 6 December 20 (Saturday) 7 Saturday, February 21, 2026
Time Approximately 10:00 to 16:00 ※It may vary depending on the event.
Contents: Approximately 50 students from Yokohama National University and 64 elementary school students are divided into eight groups to perform recreation activities such as moving games and crafts.
Camps (with accommodation), opening a store at the inhabitant of a ward festival, and agricultural experiences will also be held. A total of seven activities will be conducted by the same group.
Target: 3rd to 6th graders who live and attend school in the city and can participate in all activities in principle
Capacity: 64 (Lottery in case of a large number of applications, first-time priority)
Costs: 7,000 yen (including insurance premiums) ※All households subject to the Subsidies for School Expenses system in Yokohama City are exempted.
How to apply [Deadline on Friday, April 25]
Please apply from the electronic application system (outside site).
We will notify you of the lottery results by email by Friday, May 2nd.
Please check the settings so that you can receive emails from "[email protected]" and "[email protected]".
Notes
・Please attend the parent briefing session when participating in the Gayakko Expedition.
Schedule ①From 14:00 to 15:00 on Saturday, May 10 2 Either from 14:00 to 15:00 on Sunday, May 11 (Same content on both days)
・In each activity, please cooperate with pick-up and drop-off at the venue and prepare lunch.
・If you are applying for the Yokohama City Subsidies for School Expenses System, please report that fact at the time of application.
Once the participation is decided, the participation fee will be collected once the Subsidies for School Expenses system is approved (from July to August).
Please keep your certificate. The status of certification under the Subsidies for School Expenses system is not known to other participants.

About the Gayakko Business
Yokohama National University and the Hodogaya Ward Office collaborate to implement the following three projects:
①Gayakko classroom
Special classes will be given to elementary and junior high school students living and studying in the city, faculty members of National University will serve as lecturers. A total of about 20 classrooms are held during summer and winter vacations. It fosters the curiosity and inquisitiveness of children.
②Gayakko expedition
This is a hands-on learning program conducted by planning and operating students of National University for 3rd to 6th graders living and studying in the city. Conducted seven times a year. It fosters children's affection for the community and friends and the ability to live.
③Exciting Saturday
At elementary schools in the city, recreation games will be held by students planning and managing students for students at the school. It is a comprehensive learning that includes elements of play.

Gayakko expedition
Experience learning throughout the year planned and operated by students of Yokohama National University. Approximately 50 students from National University and 60-80 elementary school student will be divided into eight teams.
