Last updated on January 28, 2025.

Hatsunegaoka Elementary School Breeding Environment Committee

The breeding environment committee of Hatsunegaoka Elementary School grows flowers in planters and flower beds as part of cultivation activities.
Through activities that are familiar with plants, we think about the importance of life and lead to a better school life.

Mine Elementary School

This year, Mine Elementary School is engaged in the 100th anniversary of its founding, and the elementary school student of the Environment Committee is coloring the school gates by planting "100 plants" flower seedlings in flower beds next to the main gate and decorating them in each classroom. We celebrate the 100th year of school with beautiful flowers.

Mailer Elementary School

In cooperation with school janitors, elementary school student and others are growing flowers in planters as part of their "Flower Full Activities".
Through our flower-filled activities, we aim to achieve the same goals as our friends, so elementary school student has developed our ability to find issues and work independently with flowers.

Iwasaki Junior High School Regional School Collaboration Headquarters

Students from Iwasaki Junior High School and local volunteers work together to plant flower beds in junior high schools.
We grow flowers and greenery together in the community and raise interest in the environment.

Hodogaya Flower Festival

We are dedicated to the spread of ikebana, a traditional culture, and we are holding exhibitions in cultural festival.
In addition, at Magagaya Hana Festa 2024, we will hold an ikebana exhibition and a coffee cup ikebana class that can be participated on the day.

Mineoka Park Protection Association

About 30 to 50 people gather and are working hard to clean the park, cut grass, and create flower beds so that everyone can spend with peace of mind. We also cooperate with elementary and junior high school students in park cleaning for off-campus learning, and provide guidance on vegetable cultivation at schools.
Utilizing their specialty fields, they are working in harmony, and in 2023, they received the Yokohama City Park Protection Association Award.

A social welfare corporation

A bright and gorgeous flower arrangement is displayed at the window of the ward office.
This is an initiative of the "Hondagaya Flower Hospitality Business" aimed at expanding the place of active participation of people with disabilities. Please take a look when you come to the office.

Sweet flower mate

At the flower beds around the ward office and at Hoshikawa Central Park (Hoshikawa 2-16), members are having fun, such as replanting flowers, removing weeds, and picking flowers.
The flower bed at Hoshikawa Central Park can also be seen from the inside of the Sotetsu Line. Please take a look at the seasonal flowers!
Every month from 9:00 on the 2nd and 4th Thursday, we gather at the ward office concourse and work. Would you like to create a city of flowers together?
