Establishment of Election Commission

Elections form the foundation of democracy and can be said to be the most important place of political participation to reflect our will and opinions in politics. At the time of election, it is the Election Commission to ensure fair and proper execution from a politically neutral standpoint.
(Article 181, Article 252-20 of the Local Government Act)

Major duties

Execution of each election of members of the House of Representatives, members of the House of Councilors, prefectural governors, mayors, prefectural council members, and city council members
Execution of the National Examination of Judges of the Supreme Court
Preparation and storage of electoral lists
Office work related to election enlightenment
Office work related to direct billing
Office work related to the selection of prospective judge candidates
Office work related to the selection of prospective prosecutor judge candidates

Organization

The Election Commission is organized with four members elected in Congress.

In addition to the above, it is held separately at the time of election.
The Election Commission can observe.

The capacity is 4 people. (If the capacity is exceeded, it will be a lottery.)
If you would like to observe, please come to Kanazawa Ward Office General Affairs Division Statistics and Elections Section, 30 to 10 minutes before the start of the meeting. After that, please submit an application for hearing.
Depending on the bill to be discussed, it may be closed.
