As the eastern base of Kamakura in the Middle Ages


Asainagiri-dori

It prospered as the base of Mr. Hojo Kanazawa, the branch of Mr. Hojo in Kamakura shogunate, and also as a base for shipping in the Shogunate.
It was during the Kamakura period that famous temples such as Choinagiri-dori and Kanazawabunko, designated as nationally designated historic sites, were created.


As a scenic scenic spot in the early modern era

It is recognized as a historic site and famous place along with Kamakura as a proximity to the main Tokaido Highway, and as one of the leading scenic spot in the southern Kanto region, it will be written in various contributions and poetry.
It was also during this era that Hiragata Bay was reclaimed by Nitta Development.

In addition, agriculture, fishing and salt industries have been actively conducted since the Edo period as food storage and fuel storage in Tokyo and Yokohama.
In the Showa era, Kanazawa will rapidly become urbanized as the hinterland of Yokosuka Naval Port and International Port Yokohama.

After the war, as urbanization progressed in Yokohama, the coastal area of Kanazawa was reclaimed in the 40s and 50s as one of the six major projects in Yokohama City (such as Minato Mirai and Bay Bridge Development).
After that, after the creation of Marine Park and Hakkeijima, the opening of the seaside line, etc., there is now Kanazawa.
