Our hospital has been certified by the Japan Stroke Society as the "Primary Stroke Center (PSC)".

What is the Primary Stroke Center (PSC)?

 The Primary Stroke Center (PSC) is a facility that accepts stroke patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in response to requests from local medical institutions and emergency services. It is a facility that can start medical treatment (including t-PA intravenous therapy) as quickly as possible after carrying in.
 Facilities that meet the certification requirements set by the Japan Stroke Society can be certified by the Primary Stroke Center (PSC).
The requirements for certification are as follows.

Accept patients with stroke 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in response to requests from local medical institutions and emergency services, and the acute stroke physician can start medical treatment (including t-PA intravenous therapy) as quickly as possible after the patient is brought in.

Head CT or MRI examination, general blood test and coagulation test, and electrocardiogram test are available.

It has a stroke unit (SU).

Doctors engaged in stroke treatment work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
There is at least one full-time physician with stroke specialists.
There is a system in which neurosurgery can respond quickly when neurosurgery is required.
It is desirable to be able to perform mechanical thrombos recovery therapy. If not possible, there is a procedure manual for emergency transfer of patients who are eligible for mechanical thrombosis recovery therapy with thrombosis recovery centers or comprehensive stroke centers.

Control the quality of stroke care by taking regular clinical indicators.

※t-PA (thrombolysis therapy)
 It is a treatment method that dissolves blood clots in blood vessels in the brain with medicine.
※Stroke Unit (SU)
 It is defined as "a ward (or bed) dedicated to stroke patients who are assigned a multidisciplinary, exclusive stroke team and are clearly separated from other diseases." The Stroke Care Unit (SCU) on medical fees is included in the Stroke Unit (SU). We have 12 SCUs in our hospital.
※Stroke specialist
 Our hospital has a total of 10 full-time specialists in the Japanese Stroke Society, specialists in the Japanese Neurosurgery Society, and specialists in the Japanese Neurovascular Treatment Society.
