You will need to renew before the validity period of your current beneficiary card expires.

[Handling Details]
If you apply for renewal by the end of the validity period of your current beneficiary ID and are certified, we will issue a beneficiary ID from the day after the expiration date of the validity period.

※You can renew until the validity period ends, but the application deadline for receiving a new beneficiary certificate by the end of the validity period (= renewal application recommendation deadline) is the validity period of your current beneficiary certificate Two months before the end date (must arrive). For details, please refer to the table below, "Update Information Shipping Status & Application Deadline List".

※If you apply after the validity period of your current beneficiary ID, it will be a new application instead of a renewal application. Please note that required documents may change.

If you already have a beneficiary ID, we will send out a set of renewal procedures three to four months before the end of the validity period of your current beneficiary ID.

Depending on the end date of the validity period, the timing of sending the renewal information, the deadline for applying for renewal, and the renewal information sent vary, so please check the table below.

(We recommend mailing in a method that allows you to check the delivery status of simple registered mail, etc.)

・If there is a change in the contents of the current recipient ID or the contents of the renewal application sent, a change application etc. is required. Details can be found on the specific medical expenses (designated incurable disease) Grant Program (application for change) page.

・In the case of mail application, the application acceptance date will be the date when the documents were opened and accepted by the Medical Aid Division incurable disease Countermeasures Section.

・Designated physicians and designated medical institutions in Yokohama are listed on the specific medical expenses (designated incurable disease) subsidy program (list of designated doctors and designated medical institutions).

　From the recipient ID after the renewal application in 2025, the end date of the validity period will be set quarterly according to the patient's own birth month. Along with this, the application period for renewing the recipient ID will also be changed, so be sure to check the validity period chart below.

The next renewal time is also printed at the bottom of the address of the new recipient ID sent this time, so please check it.
