①There is no indication of "name" of carrot

②There is no indication of "origin" of onion

When selling fresh foods such as vegetables, indications such as "name" and "place of origin" are required. In the case of fresh foods, as shown in the illustration, it is also possible to display close to the product or use the display on the packaging bag / box. If you want to check the origin of vegetables, etc., check it out!

③There is no indication of "raw material origin" of breadcrumbs

In the case of processed foods, it is necessary to indicate the origin of raw materials.

Raw material origin

"All processed foods (excluding imported products)" manufactured and sold after April 1, 2022 indicate the place of origin of raw materials.
The content displayed depends on whether the raw material most in the product is fresh food or processed food.

If the raw material that contains the most in the product is fresh food

If the largest raw material is perishable food, the production area is displayed as "XX product". For foreign products, "country name" is displayed, and for domestic products, "domestic", "prefecture name", "municipal name", and "generally well-known place name" are displayed. [Example] Canadian, domestic, and Kanagawa

If the raw material that is most contained in the product is processed foods

If the most common raw material is processed foods, the place of manufacture is indicated as "XX manufacturing". [Example] Manufactured in Canada and domestic production
In addition, if the production area of fresh foods, which is the largest raw material used for raw materials, is known, the place of origin may be displayed. [Example] Flour (wheat from Hokkaido)

Place of origin

It refers to the place where fresh foods (agricultural products, livestock products, marine products) grew or harvested.
Whereas processed foods indicate the place of origin of raw materials, fresh foods indicate the place of origin.

☑ Agricultural products
In the case of domestic products, prefecture names, municipalities, and place names that are generally well-known.
In the case of imported products, the name of the country of origin

☑ Livestock products
In the case of domestic products, it is possible to use the country name, prefecture name, municipal name, or well-known place name.
In the case of imported products, the name of the country of origin

☑ Marine products
In the case of domestic products, the name of the landed water area or the name of the prefecture where the farm is located (however, if it is difficult to display the name of the water area, the name of the port where the land was landed or the name of the prefecture is also possible).
In the case of imported products, the name of the country of origin

Country of origin

Imported processed foods must be labeled as the country where the food was manufactured (the country of origin).
For a detailed explanation, please refer to the Consumer Information (General Food Labeling).

④There is no indication of "expiration date" of breadcrumbs

In the case of processed foods, the expiration date (expiration date or expiration date) is required.
There are two types of food expiration dates: "expiration date" and "expiration date". "expiration date" is displayed on foods whose quality deteriorates rapidly and should be consumed promptly, and "expiration date" is "expiration date". It is displayed on foods whose quality is relatively less likely to deteriorate. Normally, the expiration date or expiration date must be displayed up to the "date", but among foods that should display the expiration date, those whose period from the date of manufacture to the expiration date exceeds 3 months, It is allowed to be displayed in "Date".

⑤There is no indication of "calorific value" of breadcrumbs

Nutrition component labeling requires labeling "calorific value", "protein", "lipid", "carbohydrates", and "salt equivalent". If you are concerned about calories, salt, etc., check the numerical values!
Let's check the brochures and videos!
