Qualifications for Yokohama City Hygiene Monitor Examination

Hygiene observers in Yokohama can take the exam if they fall under any of the following.

1 Those who have graduated or are expected to graduate from one of the following courses at universities (including junior colleges) or colleges of technology based on the School Education Law 1 Medicine 2 Dentistry 3 Pharmaceutical 4 Veterinary Medicine 5 Livestock Science 6 Fisheries Science 7 Agricultural Chemistry

※⑤Livestock Science 6 Fisheries Science 7 Agricultural Chemistry refers to those who have graduated after completing the course specified by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (those who are expected to graduate). Please be sure to check the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare web page (about handling of qualification requirements pertaining to food hygiene managers and food hygiene observers) (outside site) for necessary courses.
※This includes those who already have a "doctor", "dentist", "pharmacist" or "veterinarian" license.

2 Training facilities for food hygiene observers registered by the prefectural governor under the Food Sanitation Law and the Food Sanitation Law Enforcement Order (training facilities for food hygiene observers registered by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare before March 31, 2015) Those who have graduated or are expected to graduate after completing the prescribed course at the facility.)

※Please be sure to check the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare web page (list of food hygiene managers training facilities (outside site)) for training facilities and prescribed courses that can obtain the appointment qualification of food hygiene observers.
